The Beamz Player Interactive Music System is a user-friendly music controller triggered by laser beams that allows consumers to create music by playing light. With Beamz, anyone may expand beyond just listening and experience music in a whole new way - by adding movement and creativity to make music by touching laser beams and interacting with light. For tweens who love their iPods or playing music games like GuitarHero, the Beamz Player allows you to:

  • Interact with music videos and “join the band” by adding in harmonious instrument tracks and sound effects that complement popular video songs from leading artists licensed from Disney and EMI
  • Change the course of top-hit songs and “be the band” by playing with “Jam” versions of popular songs from Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Michael Jackson, The Eagles, The Beatles, and The Black Eyed Peas to name a few
  • Explore hundreds of different instruments and sound effects with Beamz original song compositions created by independent artists encompassing all music styles and genres
  • Compete for the high score with ShadowBeamz, the interactive music game that comes with the system.

The Beamz Player includes 50 songs and users may add to their song library on the Beamz website. The Beamz song library includes music to appeal to all ages and music interests. Beamz Original and Top-Hit Jam Songs are just $2.99 each and Video Jam Songs are $3.99 each.

REVIEW:

Before receiving a request to review this item, I never heard of  the Beamz Interactive Music System. I was intrigued about what I read online, and couldn't wait to review the system for myself. My number one complaint at Christmas time is having to assemble the items I purchase. The last thing I want to do after shopping for gifts and wrapping them is spending my Christmas morning trying to figure out how to assemble them. The Beamz player comes fully assembled and ready to use. The only thing I had to attach to it was a USB cord!

It took me less than 10 minutes to download the Beamz software, which includes the song library and an interactive game. After all the material was downloaded, I was ready to try the Beamz. I had a blast using the laser beams to play music. Once I started playing, I didn't want to put it down. The Beamz is a fun interactive system that is perfect for the entire family. With a variety of songs including Old MacDonald for younger children and popular hits like Billie Jean for the adults, the Beamz has a song for everyone. Beamz is the perfect holiday gift for techies,  music lovers and video game enthusiasts.

BUY IT!

This year instead of spending money on gaming systems that require high priced games, purchase a Beamz.  Beamz Interactive Music System retails for $199.95 and is the perfect gift for the entire family. Beamz player is available at Amazon, FAO Schwarz, and selected Brookstone locations.

Happy Holidays!

We are a musical family. Everyone is required to play piano. The older boys another instrument (violin and sax) and the girls sing. I don't play much anymore handed down my piano. I have an electronic keyboard but just not the same. This instrument sounds intriguing. I don't know if $200 is worth experimenting.

Being thae bargainista I am, I wouldn't normally spend this much on an item for the kids, but I think they will enjoy it as much if not more than the PS3 I paid $300 for!
