The Herbal Water story began in the spring of 2005, in the garden of Ayala Laufer-Cahana, M.D. A passionate cook, pediatrician, talented artist and lifelong vegetarian, Dr. Ayala has spent years exploring healthy, tasty ways to feed children and adults.
Seeking an alternative to sugar-laden and artificially flavored beverages, Dr. Ayala created her own blends of herb infused waters that magically satisfy thirst and restore the spirit. Ayala's Herbal Water brand sets a new standard for healthy beverages: zero calories, zero artificial sweeteners, flavors and colors, and zero chemical preservatives. Nothing but great taste from pure water, infused with the finest natural herbs from around the world, kept fresh in a beautiful bottle for your enjoyment.
Ayala's Herbal Water comes in six flavors including:
- Ginger Lemon Peel
- Lavender Mint Lemongrass Thyme
- Lemongrass Mint Vanilla
- Lemon Verbena Geranium
- Clove Cardamon Cinnamon
- Cinnamon Orange Peel
REVIEW
For the review, I was sent all six flavors of Ayala's Herbal Water. The water comes in an attractive 16 ounce bottle. Also included in my box was a Tasting Recommendation card, The Story of Dr. Ayala and a flier with a brief description of the herbs in each flavor.
I decided to forgo the Tasting Recommendations and try a bottle of Ayala's Herbal Water over the course of 3 weeks. As most of you know, I dislike "regular" water. It's just boring to me. If I drink water, with the exception of a two or three brands, it has to be flavored water. I was pleasantly surprised when I had my first taste of the Ginger Lemon Peel flavor. It had a very refreshing taste, like nothing I had ever tasted before. It definitely quenched my thirst and didn't leave an after taste.
Throughout the next three weeks, I enjoyed the other flavors of Ayala's Herbal Water. My favorites were the Clove Cardamon Cinnamon and Cinnamon Orange Peel. I enjoyed the light refreshing taste of each flavor, and they have just the right amount of cinnamon. In my opinion, these two flavors have a milder and sweeter taste than the others.
The only negative, to me is the price. A
sampler pack of 24 bottles (2 of each flavor) sells for $24 with
FREE shipping. If you want to purchase a single flavor the price is 12 bottles for $24 with
FREE shipping. The prices are obviously much higher than regular bottled water,so to save money it is best to purchase the sampler pack.
Overall, I would give Ayala's Herbal Water a good rating. If you are looking for an alternative to regular bottled water, and don't want the calories and artificial flavors from flavored water, Ayala's Herbal Water is a good choice.
